The city as an expanding forest
Inspired by the pollination of plants – we see the growth of nature as the driving force of city growth. Our curvy buildings can easily be attached to one another, like puzzle pieces, following the shape of nature. That way the expansion of the city is not disruptive but harmonious. As a plug-in-city, our city spreads organically.
We want the buildings to be able to interact with each other and their surroundings.
In terms of materiality, we want pureness and transparency. We do not want any private open space within our city. Every area between multiple buildings is a public space, as are all the points of intersection within and between the buildings. We want the buildings to be able to interact with each other and their surroundings. Therefore, we are getting rid of any rigid materials or dark colours.
Our city lives under the motto “Fun Palace”, which describes a place where people can enjoy and feel the nature at all times. With such a variety of different public spaces on offer, everyone can find a spot that suits their mood and enjoy themselves. Unlike today, where people have to adapt to cities, our future city will conform to people and their needs.
